Born in London, acclaimed chef, TV presenter and restaurant consultant Peter Kuruvita spent his childhood in Sri Lanka where he was introduced to the delights of cooking by watching his grandmother prepare ancient Sri Lankan dishes in her simple kitchen. Since this time, Peter has worked at hotels and resorts all over the world. Drawing on his extensive international experience, Peter now is co-owner of Flying Fish Restaurant, Sydney, and Flying Fish, Fiji. He cooks delicious modern Australian dishes with a strong seafood focus, but his passion for traditional cooking remains and is evident in his new book, Serendip, a rich collection of Sri Lankan recipes drawn from his family's kitchens, as well as his travels to the colourful markets and stalls of the island nation.
