The 2018 Fairway Galle Literary Festival is delighted to welcome actress Dillie Keane.
Dillie Keane is an Olivier Award-nominated actress, singer and comedian whose praise of the “sophisticated irreverence” of Tom Lehrer, is a clue to the nature of her own wit and flair.
She was a member of the cabaret comedy trio Fascinating Aida, a British comedy singing group and satirical cabaret act founded in March 1983, which has been performed for three decades and won numerous awards for lyrics and best comedy entertainment.
Keane was nominated for a Edinburgh Comedy Award (a.k.a. the Eddies – the most prestigious comedy prize in the United Kingdom) at the Edinburgh Festival in 1990 for her one-woman theatre show Single Again.
Throughout 2017 Dillie is presenting her first solo show Hello Dillie with some brand new songs, some old favourites …
“Gorgeous songs of love and songs of disgraceful filth, Dillie will break your heart, mend it again and have it sent to the cleaners for pressing. And she’ll give you her recipe for chutney while she’s at it.”
Dillie will be accompanied on the piano by the very young but very talented Michael Roulston.
