Murugan Sivalingam is a short story writer, novelist, playwright, orator, dramatist, cartoonist, journalist, politician and trade unionist who hails from a plantation family who tirelessly toiled on a tea plantation.
He has written four collections of short stories. His historical novel ‘Panjam Pizhaikka Vandha Seemai’ (2016) won the Godage National Award.
Murugan has received 4 Sri Lanka State Literary Awards and 2 Godage State Awards.
He is a full time writer now and lives with his wife at Kotagala, in the Nuwara Eliya District.
