Workshop with Catherine Bush on Mastering Three Crucial Aspects of Writing.

Date: Thursday, January 12, 2017

Time: 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon.
Location: Amangalla Hotel Library, Galle Fort.

Catherine Bush directs the Creative Writing MFA at the University of Guelph, Canada’s premier MFA programme, whose students have astonishing publishing success, wining many prestigious prizes.

She will bring her expertise to this workshop that combines discussion and exercises to engage with three crucial aspects of writing fiction: accessing emotion, paying attention to the world, and working with formal constraints.

The goal is to help you go deeper, heighten your technical and perceptual skills, and find the play and liveliness that should be at the heart of writing. It is geared to writers at all stages of their writing practice.

Poets and nonfiction writers are welcome.

Catherine Bush’s visit is sponsored by the Canada Council for the Arts.
