The 2018 Fairway Galle Literary Festival is excited to bring this enchanting theatrical experience to Colombo as part of the FGLF2018 Pre-Festival Events Programme.

FGLF 2018 Pre-Festival Event - An Evening with Jane Austen at the Galle Face Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

An Evening with Jane Austen has been performed to sell-out audiences at venues including The Masonic Hall and Assembly Rooms in Bath, Godmersham Park, former home of Jane’s brother, Edward Austen Knight and the Royal Pavilion, Brighton, amongst others.

Do not miss spending a magical evening in the company of Mr. Adrian Lukis and Ms. Caroline Langrishe, as they bring to life a number of  Jane Austen’s most memorable characters.

Performing duologues from Pride and Prejudice, Northanger Abbey, Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion, these veteran actors explore Miss Austen’s world, from the comic absurdity of the Dashwoods, to the duplicity of Wickham, and the heartfelt passion of Wentworth and Anne.

Their duologues from Austen’s works have received high praise for their brilliance and for the amazing way in which they manage to bring all the characters to life.

Austen’s novels particularly lend themselves to performance and Caroline and Adrian’s offering will be enhanced by vocal and piano period music, all performed in the historic setting of the Galle Face Hotel.
