FGLF 2018 Fringe Events Taking Place from January 25th - 27th.


Cultural Show

Law Court Square, Galle Fort
Saturday, Jan 27th 2018 – 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

FGLF2018 Tri-Forces Cultural Show Extravaganza taking place on January 27th.

This special cultural presentation includes three elements: a March Past, an Angampora Performance, and a Sound and Light Show.

The Presentation will begin with the Forces’ Marching Bands entering the Law Court Square from the Galle Fort Entrance; playing of the Sri Lankan National Anthem will follow.

A narrative Angampora performance is next; this exciting part of the programme involves weapons and fire and is presented by the Air Force Angampora team.

Finally, a history of the Galle Fort will be presented by means of video mapping onto the outer walls of the outer façade of the Law Courts Building. This Sound and Light Show will take us back to the time of the Portuguese, Dutch and British occupancies and also reflect on the ravages of the tsunami.


The Galle Art Trail

FGLF 2018 - Galle Art Trail taking place in and around Galle Fort from January 25th-27th

The Galle Art Trail is back, from 24th to 28th January.

Galle Fort and beyond have over 20 pop up galleries showing paintings, photography, sculptures, posters and installations from Sri Lanka and from abroad. Many works are for sale.

Ponder over, mingle with art lovers, converse with the artistes, just soak it up and enjoy the surroundings – many of which have not been opened up in years… discover the old Galle Fort. Each gallery had a green flag outside it, a map is available.

Lipton Tea Room

FGLF 2018 Lipton Tea Room - Open from Jan 24th -28th

Experience tea reimagined and redefined at the Lipton Tea Restaurant which will offer Festival goers a choice of tea infused beverages and delights.

FGLF 2018 - Ashok Ferry Book Launch at Luna Terrace, Closenberg Hotel, Galle, Sri Lanka

Don’t miss the launch of Ashok Ferrey’s new book “Cut Pieces”. Meet the author over a complimentary glass of wine on the Luna Terrace of the Closenberg Hotel in Galle. Live jazz by Q. Dramatised readings begin at 6pm. Special dinner 7pm onwards.
