Kavita Puri

Kavita Puri is a multi-award winning journalist, executive producer and broadcaster. She has worked at the BBC in senior editorial positions on its flagship current affairs programmes covering politics, investigations and foreign affairs. She has also created, written and presented landmark BBC Radio 4 series including Three Million – on the 1943 Bengal Famine – which was a Times and Guardian/Observer Podcast of the Year. It won numerous prizes including Best New Podcast at the British Podcast Awards and Best Radio Series at the Broadcast Press Guild Awards and is the subject of the book she is currently writing. Partition Voices won the Royal Historical Society’s Best Radio and Public History Prizes. Her critically acclaimed book based on the series Partition Voices: Untold British Stories was adapted at the Donmar Warehouse in London. Kavita was the Chair of the Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction 2025.
