Lalith Karunatilaka

Author

Lalith Karunatilaka is an illustrator, graphic designer and professional little brother. An architect by training, he drifted into advertising and stayed there far too long, cultivating a skill for branding and identity design. He has received numerous awards for his work in both Sri Lanka and the UK, including for the iconic PickMe brand identity. Lalith is a co-founder of children’s book publisher Papaya Books with Shehan Karunatilaka, and has illustrated and co-authored the quirky Baby Baba children’s book series, including the gripping second instalment, Where Shall I Poop?.

Born in a small industrial town in England, raised in a smaller farming town in New Zealand, and led astray in a biggish town in Sri Lanka, Lalith has developed a love of Scotch eggs, nature, and absurd realities.
