Rahul Jacob is a columnist for the Indian business paper Mint. He is a former Hong Kong bureau chief and South China correspondent for the Financial Times, London. He worked for Fortune magazine in New York for several years before he joined the FT. He was part of an FT team that was runner up for the Human Rights reporting award in 2012 for a series of articles on southern China. He was the FT Weekend‘s travel, food and drink editor between 2003 and 2010. Right of Passage, a collection of his travel essays for the FT was published by Picador in 2008.
