Jill Macdonald holds a BA in English Literature from Trinity College in the University of Toronto and an M. Phil. in English Literature from Balliol College, Oxford. A citizen of Canada, she was Director of Studies at The Colombo International School and then Principal of The British School in Colombo. As founding Principal of The Study, Columbo’s first Sixth Form College, she continues to teach A-level Literature and to pursue her particular interest in writing of the immigrant experience and in music, dance and art. She is a frequent moderator and speaker at literary events and in 2018 and 2019 was Curator of the Galle Literary Festival.
