Ali Kazim
Ali Kazim (b.1979, Pakistan) is a prominent contemporary artist and Assistant Professor at the
National College of Arts, Lahore. He received a BFA from NCA (2002) and an MFA from the
Slade School of Fine Art, London (2011). Ali has garnered numerous accolades, including the
inaugural Karachi Biennale Jury Prize, the Young Painter Award from the Lahore Arts Council,
and the Melvill Nettleship Prize for Figure Composition. He has participated in prestigious
residencies, such as the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, Art OMI in New York, Hospitalfield in
Scotland, and the Vasl Residency in Karachi. His work is included in significant collections
worldwide, including the Tate, British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Metropolitan
Museum, and Qatar Museums. Additionally, Ali was a finalist for the Catlin Prize and has
exhibited extensively, contributing to international workshops and artist camps, including the
International Artist Camp conducted by the George Keyt Foundation, Sri Lanka.
