Tayeba Begum Lipi (b.1969, Gaibandha) is a renowned Bangladeshi contemporary artist and Co- Founder and Trustee of Britto Arts Trust. She earned her MFA from the Institute of Fine Art, University of Dhaka. Tayeba’s practice explores themes of gender, identity, and societal tensions, and her work has been exhibited worldwide, including at the Venice Biennale in 2011, the ‘documenta fifteen’ in Kassel and ‘ReCollect’ at Kunsthaus Zurich in 2023, as well as the Centraal Museum in the Netherlands and Harewood Biennale in the UK in 2024. Her public acquisitions include the Tate Modern, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Neue Gallery Kassel, and FIT New York. She has also been featured in exhibits such as Being and Belonging at the Royal Ontario Museum and Artist as Activist at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum (MSU), USA, earning her inclusion in 50 Contemporary Women Artists: Ground breaking Contemporary Art from 1960 to Now (2018). further cementing her global influence.
