Marguerite Richards is an American writer and book editor, focusing on memoir and diverse voices. She holds degrees in literature and translation, has taught in France and Chile, and fell in love with magazine publishing in New York. Her articles and essays have been published in various places, but she has found her calling with books. She lives in Sri Lanka with her husband and two sons.

Her book, The Ordinary Chaos of Being Human, is a collection of short memoirs––a first-class ticket around the world to make friends with 41 real-life strangers from 35 countries. Originally published by Penguin SEA in 2019, an updated second edition was released in 2024.
