Shamji Vankar Vishram Valji, a master weaver from Bhujodi, Kutch, embodies the rich heritage of traditional textile arts. Coming from a lineage of skilled weavers, he learned the craft from his father and has since dedicated his life to preserving and evolving the art of hand weaving. For over 25 years, Shamji has collaborated with designers, including Lindsay from Tallentire Taylored Living, to create fine textiles using natural fibers like merino wool, silk, and kala cotton. His community-centric approach brings together 60 families of weavers and dyers, producing exquisite, naturally dyed fabrics that blend tradition with contemporary elegance.
