At International Distillers Limited (IDL), we were proud to once again stand alongside Sri Lanka’s literary and creative community as a partner of the Galle Literary Festival 2025. Marking our second year of collaboration, this partnership reaffirmed our ongoing commitment to supporting platforms that celebrate culture, creativity, and meaningful connection.
Set within the historic surroundings of Galle Fort, this year’s festival was a vibrant celebration of literature, art, and dialogue. It brought together a diverse group of Sri Lankan and international writers, thinkers, and artists, creating space for powerful conversations and imaginative storytelling across a variety of formats, readings, performances, workshops, and panel discussions.
We were inspired by the festival’s role in strengthening Sri Lanka’s creative landscape. It not only gave homegrown talent a platform to shine but also welcomed global voices that enriched the experience for all. By encouraging both established and emerging creatives, the festival helped spark new ideas and a deeper appreciation for literary and artistic expression.
The event also extended far beyond the realm of books. With culinary storytelling, art installations, and cultural gatherings, the festival showcased the full spectrum of Sri Lankan creativity, welcoming diverse audiences into a shared celebration of identity, heritage, and innovation.
As the market leader in Locally Manufactured Foreign Liquor (LMFL), we at IDL were proud to contribute to the hospitality and refreshment experience at the festival. Our involvement went beyond brand presence, it reflected a long-standing belief in the power of the arts to connect, inspire, and elevate communities. Through initiatives like this, we continue to invest in platforms that empower creative voices and strengthen the cultural fabric of our nation.
For us, the Galle Literary Festival 2025 was more than an event. It was a moment that reminded us of the transformative power of storytelling, and the role we can play in helping it flourish. We are honored to have been a part of it once again and look forward to continuing our support for Sri Lanka’s creative future.
