Janu’s literary contributions extend beyond poetry and prose. She has established herself as a skilled translator, a role in which she has excelled by bringing diverse voices to broader audiences. Most notably, she undertook the bulk of the translation work for Tea Stained Lines, an anthology celebrating the poetry of Hill Country Tamil poets. Her dedication and linguistic finesse have been instrumental in ensuring that these voices resonate powerfully in Sinhala and English.

In addition to her work as a translator, Janu is also featured as a poet in Tea Stained Lines, with one of her own creations enriching the collection. Her poetic style reflects a deep connection to her roots, coupled with a profound understanding of human emotions and societal dynamics.
