Over the last 20+ years, Mangala Karunaratne has served as the founder and CEO of Calcey, a boutique professional services firm which specialises in developing bespoke software products for global clients. Under Mangala’s stewardship, Calcey went from a fledgling startup to a thriving company with nearly 200 talented people on its payroll.
Prior to founding Calcey, Mangala built a career as a programmer and product manager in Silicon Valley during the days of the dot-com boom. He was part of the engineering teams of GolfWeb (acquired by CBS Sportsline), Bay Networks, and Nortel.
Mangala is a mountain biker, snowboarder, photography enthusiast, and seed investor in startups. Mangala is also a trustee of the Karuna Trust and holds a BSc in Computer Science from the California State University, Fresno.
