Adrian Lukis

We are delighted to welcome actor Adrian Lukis to the 2018 Fairway Galle Literary Festival.

Adrian Lukis has had a long and successful career as an actor. He is perhaps best known for playing Mr Wickham, in the 1995 BBC ‘Pride and Prejudice’.

Other work includes three series of the hugely successful medical series, ‘Peak Practice’ and numerous appearances in ‘Downton Abbey’, ‘The Crown’, ‘Genius’, ‘Poirot’, ‘Lewis’, ‘Death in Paradise’, ‘Miss Marple’, ‘Prime Suspect’, ‘Toast of London’, ‘Pete versus Life’ and many more.

Theatre includes seasons at the National Theatre, most recently in the Young Checkov season, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the West End and repertory theatre around the UK.

He has been performing ‘An Evening with Jane Austen’ over the last five years and can soon be seen in the film ‘The Festival’, the comedy ‘Us’ for Channel 4 and ‘Poldark’.

An Evening with Jane Austen offers audiences the opportunity to spend a magical evening in the company of Jane’s most memorable characters from the comic absurdity of the Dashwoods, to the heartfelt passion of Wentworth and Anne, not to mention the charming duplicity of the notorious Mr Wickham!
