The Modern Movement in architecture transformed itself, in Sri Lanka, from being an “International Style” to one wholly rooted in the building traditions of the country, while at the same time, taking on board the salient principles of the Movement.

This illuminating excursion, led by well-known architect Channa Daswatte, will look at a few buildings that are part of the modern architectural history of Sri Lanka.

These will include The SOS Children’s Village, the Kerry Hill House and the Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel.

Participant: Channa Daswatte.
