This in-depth literary session will begin with a reading by the incandescent Jemima Foxtrot whose unique brand of spoken word poetry, combined with singing, brings to life the world of young women of her generation and the challenges and joys of their lives.
This will be followed by a discussion with the international bestseller Philippa Gregory, whose novels look at women of a much earlier generation – their challenges and joys.
‘The Other Boelyn Girl’, which sold over a million copies and was a blockbuster Hollywood movie, tells the story of Mary Boleyn, the sister of Anne Boleyn.
‘The White Queen’, a #1 New York Times bestseller made into a critically acclaimed miniseries, brings to life the extraordinary story of Elizabeth Woodville, a woman who rose from obscurity to become Queen of England.
Gregory’s newest book ‘Three Sisters, Three Queens’ is a gripping new addition to the author’s Tudor novels, featuring King Henry VIII’s sisters Mary and Margaret, along with Katherine of Aragon.
“Gregory’s research is impeccable which makes her imaginative fiction all the more convincing” – Daily Mail.
“The brilliant Foxtrot is the one to watch.” – Observer New Review.
SLT Telecom is happy to be associated with Philippa Gregory’s visit to the Festival. Philippa Gregory and Jemima Foxtrot’s travel is sponsored by Sri Lankan Airlines.
