Our lives are woven of fascinating stories, relationships, experiences and revelations, but how do we shape those memories into a memoir?
How to choose which of your innumerable stories to write about? How to create a structure to contain the material? How do you transform your personal stories into ones of universal interest? Where is the line between memory and fiction? How do you write about difficult situations or people, especially if those people are still alive?
In this workshop, you will find answers to these questions, as well as many of the tools, insights, direction and inspiration you need to transform your personal stories into literary works.
Participants can expect lively discussion, optional writing exercises, reading recommendations, and plenty of good humour. No formal writing experience necessary.
