David Robson is the author of ‘In Search of Bawa’, a new book that offers a reappraisal of Geoffrey Bawa’s achievements.
In this discussion, he is joined by Ismeth Raheem, one of Bawa’s early collaborators; Channa Daswatte, Bawa’s principal associate during his final decade; and Palinda Kannangara, a pre-eminent member of a new generation of Sri Lankan architects. Together they will seek answers to a number of questions: What were the sources of Bawa’s genius? What were the essential ingredients of his work? What is his significance for Sri Lankan architecture today?
