Simon Lister

Author

Simon Lister is the author of a new biography of Frank Worrell. Published in the summer of 2024, Sir Clive Lloyd called it the, “definitive telling of the life of a West Indian hero.” Renowned West Indian cricket scholar, Professor Clem Seecharan, said that Simon had “once again deployed his compelling lucidity, formidable analytical skills – and his gift for the gripping narrative – to craft a biography of distinction, arguably the best on a West Indian cricketer.”

Lister’s first book, Supercat the authorised biography of Sir Clive Lloyd – was shortlisted for the British Sports Book Awards. His 2015 follow-up, Fire in Babylon – a West Indian cricket history inspired by the film of the same name – won the MCC/Cricket Society Book of the Year award, and was shortlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year award. ESPNcricinfo described it as “a superb work of non-fiction with the emotional power of a novel.”
