The Ceylon Artisan Tea Association (CATA) promotes the production and sale of small-batch artisanal Sri Lankan teas. Crafted with care and made by farmers who work in harmony with the land, CATA’s exceptional teas reflect Sri Lanka’s unique flavors and terroir.
Each CATA member is committed to improving the livelihoods of their local villages and communities. Selling hand-crafted teas directly from farmers to fine retailers, hotels, and restaurants worldwide generates higher incomes for those individuals and families devoted to growing and producing quality tea.
In 2020, eight passionate small tea producers formed CATA to share their knowledge and support one another. Now, CATA has twelve members producing a variety of award-winning teas, from hand-rolled black teas and aromatic blends made with spices grown on the estates to vibrant green teas and floral silver tips. CATA remains dedicated to growing, teaching, and supporting budding Sri Lankan artisan tea makers.
