The Chamber Music Society of Colombo

Performer

Founded in 2007 by Lakshman Joseph-de Saram, the Chamber Music Society of Colombo (CMSC) has established itself as one of the region’s most acclaimed classical music organizations under the chairmanship of philanthropist Mohan Tissanayagam. The CMSC’s vision has attracted global luminaries to its honorary advisory board, including virtuoso Midori, Maestro Leslie Suganandarajah of the Salzburg Landestheater, and internationally renowned collaborative pianist Rohan De Silva.

For over a decade, the CMSC has engaged sell-out audiences across Sri Lanka with repertoire spanning all eras, from instrumental duets to opera. Through its Education Fund, the organization has provided over 6,000 free tickets to students for live performances, workshops, and masterclasses.

The CMSC’s success stems from its musicians’ dedication and the support of its chairman, honorary board, and partners including Asia Securities, Baur & Co., The Tokyo Cement Group, Malinee Jayasinghe-Peris, The Samuel Gnanam Center, The Goethe-Institut, and various corporate sponsors and benefactors.
