Galle Literary Festival

Yasiru Epsa

Host

Growing up in the historic town of Galle, with the majestic Galle Fort as his backyard, Yasiru Epsa’s love for Sri Lanka’s rich history began early. The Fort wasn’t just a landmark, it was a part of his life. Its timeless walls whispered stories of the past, while the jetty, where he first learned to swim, became a place of joy and discovery.

After completing his higher studies, life brought Yasiru back to his roots during the global shutdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic. This period of reflection opened the door to a remarkable opportunity. Joining the Galle Heritage Foundation allowed him to turn my passion into purpose, training to become a certified Heritage Interpreter for the iconic Galle Fort. Today, he has the privilege of sharing the captivating history, culture, and stories of this UNESCO World Heritage site with visitors from around the world.
