Illustration Builds Character with Lalith Karunatilaka

Characters are central to every story. They are the starting point and drivers of any narrative. Illustrator Lalith Karunatilaka will take participants through the stages of creating their very own children’s book character, delving into personality and how to not only design visually interesting characters but also ones full of substance.. By the end of this two-hour workshop, attendees will understand why a mute, cockroach-loving, garbage carrying space robot like Wall-E can be so relatable.

Please bring any drawing materials that you are comfortable with (pens, watercolours, markers, pencils, pastels, iPad, anything that you can make a line with) and something to draw on (drawing pad / paper / notebook).
