Radhika Hettiarachchi, Aanchal Malhotra, and Eithne Nightingale have each gathered powerful personal narratives in their books, which span recent tales of women’s courage and crisis in Sri Lanka, memories of the 1947 Partition, and experiences of child migration to the UK. In conversation with sociologist and researcher Johann Peiris, they discuss their work collecting and preserving people’s stories, examining how intimate individual accounts can shape nuanced perspectives on historical events and social change.
