Romesh Gunesekera & Shehan Karunatilaka

Romesh Gunesekera’s Reef was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1994, while Shehan Karunatilaka’s The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida won the award in 2022. How has the Sri Lankan literary landscape shifted in the last three decades? What does the future hold for Sri Lankan writing on the international stage? In the final talk of the Festival, two of the island’s best-known novelists share their reflections and aspirations with writer and publisher Ameena Hussein.
