Vinod Malwatte, Executive Director of the Lanka Environment Fund and Co-Founder of the Parrotfish Collective, explores the benefits and controversies associated with studying biodiversity in Sri Lanka – and how to find a balance between local and international interests. Celebrated field naturalist Gehan de Silva Wijeyeratne and Anya Ratnayaka, Founder of the Urban Fishing Cat Conservation project, join the conversation with Dr. Sumith Pilapitiya, elephant ethnologist and former Director General of Sri Lanka’s Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC).
